Christina A. Brown is the founder, Executive Director, and Board Chairperson for the Colorado Asylum Center.
Christina is an immigration attorney in private practice in Colorado. Christina graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in May 2013. After graduation from law school, Christina had the opportunity to head to Artesia, New Mexico, where she volunteered her time helping to represent women and children held in immigration detention camps in the desert. After serving as a volunteer for two months, Christina was hired by the American Immigration Council as the Lead Attorney of the Artesia Pro Bono Project. Christina spent the subsequent eight months managing hundreds of asylum cases and managing hundreds of pro bono attorneys who came to volunteer for the project. Christina’s work was featured in The New York Times Magazine in 2015.
Christina opened her own law practice in 2016. She handles a variety of cases, with an emphasis in removal defense and defensive asylum cases. Christina represents many Central American and Mexican family units seeking asylum in the United States.
Christina is admitted to the Colorado bar and to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She is the current co-chair of the AILA Colorado Asylum Committee and she sits on the AILA Asylum Committee.
